Spoken English through Tamil part-05 -Imperative Sentence (கட்டளை வாக்கியம்)

A sentence that expresses a command or a request is called an Imperative Sentence. (ஒரு கட்டளை அல்லது வேண்டுகோளை வெளிப்படுத்தும் வாக்கியம் கட்டளை வாக்கியம் எனப்படும்.)

The structure of Imperative Sentence:
A command always begins with verb only. This sentence has no subject. We find full stop mark at the end.
ஒரு கட்டளை வாக்கியம் வினைச் சொல்லில் தொடங்கும். இந்த வாக்கியத்தில் எழுவாய் (Subject) வராது. கடைசியில் முற்றுப்புள்ளி இருக்கும்.

Example:

1. கதவை மூடு-  Shut the door
2. தொலைக்காட்சியை பார்க்காதே! - Don't Watch T.V
3.  தயவுசெய்து எனக்கு உதவி செய் - Please help me.
4. உன்னுடைய வாயை மூடு - Shut up your mouth .
5. சாலையை கவனமாக கடந்து செல் - Cross the road carefully.
6. தயவுசெய்து சப்தம் போடாதே .  - Please, Don't make noise.
7. இங்கிருந்து போய்விடு - Go away from here.
8. இப்படி முட்டாள்தனமாக பேசாதே - Don't talk such nonsense.
9. கதவைத் திற - Open the door.
10. நீ வாங்கிய கணிணியை என்னிடம் காட்டு - Show me the computer that you have bought.
11. உண்மையைச் சொல் - Tell the truth.
12. எனக்கு கொஞ்சம் சூடான தேநீர் கொடு - Give me some hot tea.
13. பலவீனமானவரை அவமதிக்காதே- Do not insult the weak.
14. கவனமாக கேட்டு குறிப்புகள் எடுத்துக்கொள் - Listen carefully and take notes.
15. உனக்கு சரி என்று படுவதை செய் - Do whatever you think right.
16. உணவு தயாரா என்று கேள் - Ask if the food is ready.
